Epiphany
The liturgical calendar has developed over the course of the Church’s history and organizes the year into seasons that rehearse the Gospel story and invite us to live within it. Epiphanytide is the time after the feast of Epiphany, which celebrates the three wisemen visiting the newly born Jesus in the Jerusalem stable. This signified that Jesus had come not only to the Jewish people but to the rest of the world as well. In Epiphany, we celebrate the fact that though we were far off from God, Jesus came to reveal himself to all humanity. The liturgical color is green, just as in Trinitytide, to signify that this is a season of growth in Christlikeness for the Church. For our feast days and celebrations, please see our calendar below.
